You will be driven to the headquarters of Bwindi impenetrable National park, for briefing, there after you will be grouped in a group of 8, though some times only 2,3 or 4 trackers may trek according to the number of trekkers that booked for that particular date and it is based on the season. You will have to carry enough water for drinking and pack lunch since the trek is so strenuous and can take from one to eight hours depending on how these endangered giants move within the natural habitat.
You will move with the park rangers as they guide you and give you company as you search for the mountain gorillas. Trekking Mountain gorillas is not a walk over activity so one needs a walking stick, needs to be strong enough and physically fit. The trekkers are also advised to carry rain coats and boots since the weather is unpredictable and just changes. Do not worry about carrying your laguage while trekking, there are porters to help you carry your luggage at a cost of $10. Whenyou come close to the gorillas, the rangers will guide you on how to behave while next to the gorillas. You must stand 6 meters away from the gorillas as you enjoy looking at them.
