4 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable forest the home of the endangered  Mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is by far the most ideal way to experience an up-close encounter with the Mountain gorilla; a unique experience that lasts a lifetime! Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park is the natural habitant to half of all the world’s remaining endangered mountain gorilla population. The forest has 12 gorilla families but only 10 are available for gorilla trekking and can be visited by tourists.

Detailed Itinerary for 4 days Uganda Gorilla safari

Day 1; Arrival & Hotel Transfer.

On arrival for your 4 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari, you will be met by a representative from Extrme safaris at Entebbe Airport and transfer you to your lodge in Kampala or Entebbe to unwind, dinner and overnight Stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi home of Uganda Gorillas

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala early in the morning and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in the western part of Uganda, this is usually along drive because it is approximately 540 km from Kampala by road.r You can choose to travel by air, you can fly from kajjansi airfield or Entebbe and land off from Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip.

If you wish to visit Bihoma, you  may take on the charter planes and land off from Kayonza airstrip. You will have dinner and overnight at at the hotel of your choice that you reserved earlier.  There are many accommodation options in the different sections of Bwindi and we help you choose the best to fit within your budget!

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters briefing by the ranger guides. You will be given groups of 8 people and later head into the forest for your gorilla trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla famiily you are trekking. These primates are always on a move roaming the park  and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day.

When you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to speed only one hour with them viewing and taking photos of these gentle primates, watching how they feed and take care of their young ones. There are other activities you can engage in after the gorilla trek like going for a village tour or be at the hotel as you savour the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi and prepare for the next day. Dinner and overnight as above on this 4 day Uganda Gorilla safari.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala

You will have breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Continue to Kampala city arriving in the afternoon. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala,or Entebbe airport for your onward flight marking the end of your 4 Days Uganda gorilla safari.

Best Time to Visit

The best wildlife viewing months in Uganda and Rwanda are during the Dry seasons from June to August and December to February. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Rwanda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and one can’t avoid rain completely.

How to Obtain Tourist Entry Visa

The most easier way of getting a visa to Uganda is by purchasing it at the entry point, Entebbe Airport or any border station. This is very possible for tourists. All you need to do is pay USD 50, fill in the application form with passport dates and information. The visa fee of USD 50 usually runs for 90 days.
